ILG Courses - Available on DVD

ILG has a number of courses now available on DVD recorded during each course. These DVDs are available upon request to help you complete your ILG credits. Call the ILG office to request the courses below. - Phone # 800-932-8730.

DVDs do have a life span. ILG periodically takes DVDs off the list due to course information no longer being current.

Generations in the Workplace (COM) - Join us to learn how to turn the challenge of 4 working generations into a competitive advantage, with a fresh, new approach to handling the complexities of working in a multigenerational workforce. Cost: $65 

Organizational Skills (ORG) - This course includes information on managing time to increase productivity, developing a daily plan, managing technology, and saying "no" to doing too much.

Conflict Resolution (CRS) - How do I respond to that? Learn to recognize the signs of conflict, the times when you should respond, and how to respond when engaged in conflict.

Becoming a 360 Degree Leader (ELE) - How do you manage your emails? What do you do with old emails? You will learn how to archive emails and get your questions answered regarding Microsoft Outlook.

Microsoft Email Maintenance & Management (TCH) - Join us to develop your influence from wherever you are in the organization by becoming a 360 degree leader and learning how to lead up, lead across and lead down.

Email Etiquette & Memo Writing (MWT) - Learn proper email etiquette & quick tips for your email. We'll also learn about the basics of memo writing including fundamentals of format, purpose statements and content.
• Cost: $45

Working with You is Killing Me! (TBG) - If you find yourself getting frustrated with a colleague, quit complaining and do something! The solution is simple: Take control of your own response. Empower yourself at the office with this essential course for managing your work life!
• Cost: $65

Free Internet Tools & Programs (COM or TCH) - Did you know that there are FREE programs available on the internet that you can use for word processing, spreadsheets, photo editing, and organizing and project collaboration?Google, Yahoo! and even Microsoft (among others) have been rolling out many free programs in a  race to get you to use their services. These tools can save you money & make you more productive!
• Cost: $45 (Expires December 9, 2010)

Emergency Management (EMG) - An introduction to an integrated emergency management system within the county to include programs and resources available to your jurisdiction. The roles and responsibilities of the Emergency Manager as well as other county officials during disaster planning response and recovery will be discussed.
• Cost: $45 (Expires January 20, 2011)

Sexual Harassment & Bullying (PMG) - Learn what constitutes it, different types, federal and state laws that protect individuals, steps to take to avoid charges, how to investigate a complaint, Supreme Court decisions, what needs to be in a policy and how to file a claim.
• Cost: $65 (Expires February 24, 2011)

Improving Your Conversation Skills (COM) - This is a straightforward guide to making good conversation. Learn the art of give and take, the importance of listening, and confidence for those who hesitate to strike up a conversation.
• Cost: $85

Social Media: Engaging the Public Just Got Easier (COM or TCH) - Learn how counties are successfully using social networking tools like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and others to engage the public.
• Cost: $45 (Expires March 24, 2011)

Courthouse & Courtroom Security (EMG) - Learn about security measures you can take to make your courthouse and county employees safer.
• Cost: $35

Your Media Message-shape, not spin (COM) - HOW to say something is just as important as WHAT you say. Learn how to shape your message by making it more appealing to the media and to the public. We'll discuss some important general tools, such as how to format and send a news release and when to send it out.
