ILG Courses - Available on DVD
ILG has a number of courses now available on DVD recorded during each course. These DVDs are available upon request to help you complete your ILG credits. Call the ILG office to request the courses below. - Phone # 800-932-8730.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: ILG is committed to providing the highest quality of training for county officials. This continuing commitment can only be possible with the help from you. Therefore we ask you please not copy or share the DVD trainings with those who have not registered for ILG credit. Training DVD’s will be provided to you upon registration. Please view the DVD within 30 days of receipt and when finished place the DVD in the pre-paid postage envelope. Once ILG receives the DVD back within the 30 days you will be provided your ILG credits. **The DVDs are intended to play in your computer or laptop.

Email Etiquette & Memo Writing (MWT) - Learn proper email etiquette & quick tips for your email. We'll also learn about the basics of memo writing including fundamentals of format, purpose statements and content.

Free Internet Tools & Programs (COM or TCH) - Did you know that there are FREE programs available on the internet that you can use for word processing, spreadsheets, photo editing, and organizing and project collaboration?Google, Yahoo! and even Microsoft (among others) have been rolling out many free programs in a race to get you to use their services. These tools can save you money & make you more productive!

Emergency Management (EMG) - An introduction to an integrated emergency management system within the county to include programs and resources available to your jurisdiction. The roles and responsibilities of the Emergency Manager as well as other county officials during disaster planning response and recovery will be discussed.

Sexual Harassment & Bullying (PMG) - Learn what constitutes it, different types, federal and state laws that protect individuals, steps to take to avoid charges, how to investigate a complaint, Supreme Court decisions, what needs to be in a policy and how to file a claim.

Welcome Back Legislators! (TLP) - This ILG course is designed to cover such topics as: What is the legislative process? What are some tips for working with legislators? Where can I get the legislative information I need? and What legislative issues may lie ahead? Presented by members of "Team County"--the legislative relations specialists of NDACo.

The Role of the Commissioner (RTC) - The role of the county commissioner comes with many expectations, but no job manual. This panel of experienced leaders will present you with information about the roles of a county commissioner, including specifications of the office required by the ND Century Code.

County Records Management (RMG) - This course will explain the county records management program and the process involved regarding the disposal and retention of records. Records with archival value and the process for transferring/retrieving records at the State Archives will also be discussed.

Taking on Title VI (PMG) - NDDOT now requires all entities that receive federal funds to be compliant with the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. The presenter has successfully guided several counties and cities through this compliance process and has a number of tips to make the process as smooth as possible. Learn how to bring your county into compliance.

Energy Conversion & Transmission Facility Siting: What Does the ND Public Service Commission Do? (PAZ) - This course will provide you with an overview of the ND Public Service Commission's jurisdiction over energy conversion & transmission facilities in ND and the criteria used by the Commission when siting an energy conversion or transmission facility. We'll also explore potential topics for local zoning ordinances relating to generation and transmission.
