Under the supervision of the Training Sergeant in the Detention Center, performs a wide variety of professional-level duties that normally include responsibility for management of administrative programs and projects. This position performs accounting and administrative support functions related to prisoner accounts and related detention center administrative functions.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Requires three (3) years of work experience performing a variety of office support, clerical, or secretarial work. Associate degree preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
• Coordinate daily activity assignments with other Detention Center office staff.
• Answer incoming calls, answer questions, or transfer to appropriate staff member.
• Issue checks from prisoner accounts, and bond checks to the appropriate court.
• Prepares bank deposits.
• Monitor and document monthly inmate statistics.
• Collect and balance cash and check deposits posted to the inmate accounting system.
• Maintain records of "Not in Custody" commissary orders; prepare credits for missing items.
• Maintain inmate property release slips; Verify ID and call Booking for property.
• Review reports to ensure correctness, completeness, and accuracy, and scan to the inmate file.
• Run the visitation program on designated days; troubleshoot issues with Reliance phone system; ID visitors.
• Maintain a positive relationship with attorneys, clergy and other visitors by tending to the front counter.
• Assist Detention Division personnel with clerical duties as required.
• Open and close the lobby for business hours.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

1. Inform and update the Training Sergeant of the Detention Division of commendations, issues, concerns and/ or complaints to maintain an orderly and efficient operation.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
• Coordinate with our criminal justice partner agencies on crime prevention and safety campaigns.
• Must be knowledgeable and proficient with use of agency social media.
• Exercise discretion when interacting with the general public, media, and other agencies while answering questions on behalf of the State’s Attorney’s Office.
• Compose and prepare memoranda, motions, notices of hearings, orders, pleadings, etc., and ensures that documents are filed with the appropriate court and served on all parties prior to set deadlines.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Associate degree with emphasis in the paralegal field preferred and four (4) years’ experience in performing paralegal activities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in Public Communications, and familiarity with North Dakota Open Records and Meetings Laws.
3. Requires a high degree of written and/or verbal communication skills dealing with employees, clients, and the general public.
4. Must be proficient with word processing software such as WordPerfect or MS Word and possess excellent typing skills.
5. Knowledge of appropriate legal terminology, legal forms, and legal files necessary.
6. Ability to handle multiple duties and priorities under limited supervision.

SHIFT SCHEDULE:
This position is a shift work position. Every other weekend off, twelve-hour shifts with one-month rotations alternating between night shift and day shifts. Officers work a long week then a short week with this repeating. Long weeks are working Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Short weeks are just Wednesday and Thursday. Officers only work approximately 14 days per month.

Minimum Qualifications:

Typical Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent; OR 1 year of relevant work experience (such as farm-related)

The Vector Control Field Aide performs duties related to the detection, prevention, and control of mosquitos and other vectors within the district.
This is a seasonal position, averaging 40 hours per week. Work is typically available from May until approximately mid-September. Work is generally performed from 7:00 am-4:30 pm Monday- Thursday and 7:00 am- 11 am on Fridays. Must be able to work some nights and weekends as needed.

Operates UTVs, trucks, and boats; utilizes backpack sprayer for limited access areas
Communicates with the public about services while working in the field
Utilizes handheld computer devices, laboratory equipment and instruments, personal protective equipment, and paper maps to complete work
Creates and maintains thorough reports and documentation on work duties, as required
Completes required technical trainings and certifications
Understands and adheres to all safety protocols
