When a reporter walks into your courthouse, does everyone hide under their desks? Every county must communicate with the public for a variety of reasons. Not all counties have a staff person dedicated to communications, but all counties should choose someone who can get trained as a Public Information Officer (PIO), to develop a communications strategy for the whole county and for all occasions; for both “blue sky” times and stormy times.

Offroad vehicles like quads and side-by-sides are an integral part of rural life in North Dakota. Whether for recreation or for work, ATVs and UTVs are everywhere. Unfortunately, the use of these vehicles oftentimes results in injury. Join us as we discuss the role of ATV/UTV safety in achieving Vision Zero and examine how accidents involving these vehicles affect your County. This workshop will also explore the use of drone technology to eliminate the hazards of using quads and side-by-sides in the workplace.
