Annual Conference

The NDACo Annual Conference is NDACo’s premier educational and networking event. Held every October, the conference is a two-day gathering of over 500 officials, guests and vendors from across the state. Conference activities include:

  • Educational workshops, including ILG-credit qualifying classes
  • Vendor exhibits
  • NDACo Board of Directors elections
  • NDCCA Annual Business meeting
  • Discussion and voting on important legislative resolutions and initiatives
  • Topical keynote speakers and special guests
  • ILG awards and graduation
  • Presentation of Excellence in County Government Awards and scholarship winners
  • Scheduled and informal opportunities to network with other county folks, partners, state officials and others.

All county officials are strongly urged to attend the NDACo Annual Conference & Expo. Many consider it essential to their ability to provide the best service to their constituents.

Local Government Capitol Connection

NDACo along with our local government partners from the ND League of Cities, ND Recreation and Parks, ND School Boards & ND Townships are putting together a joint event during the Legislative Session. (This will replace the NDACo County Day at the Capitol.) The event is scheduled for Feb. 18 & 19th, 2025 and will be held at the Bismarck Event Center with a legislative social being held Feb. 18th. 

County attendees will receive five FREE ILG training hours for attending the Local Government Capitol Connection.

 

Human Resources Conference for Local Government

With much appreciated support from the Bremer Trust and ND Insurance Reserve Fund, the Human Resource Collaborative was created in 2008. The partnering agencies  are the ND Association of Counties, ND League of Cities, ND School Boards Association, ND Parks and Recreation Association and the ND Insurance Reserve Fund. 

The HR Collaborative for Local Government (HRC) has built a structure for providing over 800 units of local government in North Dakota with a set of tools, resources and training on human resource management.  These tools were designed to increase the awareness and understanding of the importance of  human resource management for elected/appointed officials and employees, to offer an online tool to research HR questions (HR Reference Guide) and to provide on-going training/information on emerging HR issues. Legislative Wrap-Up

The Legislative Wrap-Up is a one-day workshop held after each legislative session which reviews recently passed legislation that will affect county budgets and operations. 

Legislative Wrap-up is typically held the second Monday in May of odd-numbered years.
